We always have options to deal with TRIGGERS!

We all collect triggers, saboteurs or inner triggers. It's important to know they are doing their best to avoid to achieve your goals. It's not you and it takes all the space in your head. This is what I call a lovely rugby team..  When the trigger wakes up, we create an impulse and from there we will take an adequate or not adequate response to it. From a Science perspective we distinguish:
                                            trigger/irritation - impulse - reaction..

I love the metaphor of seeing triggers like stations.. Explore to identify your stops, learn what they look like + feel like and remain detached. I invite you to recognize them as you approach their stations and get off the train at the earliest stops possible.

Once we work around this, we can make choices and here Peter Bregman shows us some practical examples how to take actions in his interesting paper: quash your bad habits by knowing what triggers them

I'm curious the way you're dealing with yours. Share this with me and 1 piece of advise: don't take yourself seriously when they show up:)

Amygdala hijack, EQ & leadership development..

It's been some days now and it's time for me now to claim this space, share this urge, this from a scientific perspective around boosting your emotional intelligence (EQ).

I strongly believe this intelligence is an important path way to succeed in your leadership.

This urge comes from some coaching experiences where I had the chance to meet coachees that needed to develop their EQ.
Unfortunately they are now in a journey where they're hijacked by their amygdala, this controls their control base and it succeeds up till now in leading them into something that doesn't work for their personal and professional growth.

Fortunately you can overcome an amygdala hijack, you can lift up your energy consciousness and integrate this to your leadership.

What about YOU?
What do you do to manage your strong emotional reactions?
How do you lead at that crucial moment?
What are the actions you're taking to integrate this to your leadership?

I look forward to read how you're playful with amygdala hijackings, integration of it into your leadership , and I will join you in the comments section of the article.

Find below a very interesting paper about this topic by Daniel Golemen and Dr. Siegel: http://morethansound.net/2016/03/08/boost-your-emotional-intelligence/#.VuFW2owrJQL

Today's headline: Can meditation reduce suffering..

Meditation has been very precious during preparation of big projects, coaching people, competitions, examinations, pain and much more.

If you succeed in being mindful with yourself, it can reduce the suffering or even make it disappear.

Zazen (zen meditation) is at the core of Japanese martial arts.
An everyday life equivalent is mindfulness.
It brings you peace and space in your thoughts during you daily activities.

Nice, however it's not that easy..
Before, my mind could be devastated by an overflow of thoughts.

One wave right after the other!
Now, step by step, I manage their visits.
I observe those thoughts further, I try not to judge them or even catch them..

Some day it works and sometimes you don't succeed.
If it doesn't work today then it's fine.
Tomorrow will be a new day.
Just be gentle with yourself.

This tool is very precious when encountering a lot of pain.
The pain doesn't disappear however it can soothe your suffering.
Depending of your attitude during the meditations you will be capable of making it disappear.
It is and remains a challenge for myself.

It's a fantastic challenge that I use with my coachees.

And you? Any challenge?

Warmly,

Arsenia
